Earlier this year I redesigned our living room, mainly by rearranging our existing furniture layout and adding a new coffee table and a floating shelf in the corner of the room where I have my office desk. While everything looked great overall, I felt the room looked kind of plain and empty, especially the shelf and my coffee table which for a while I decorated really simply with coasters and photos. I knew that the missing element was a few good books.
So I went on a hunt for some books to pepper around the room. My thing is, they can’t just be your typical coffee table books that just look good on the cover. I love a good book. I majored in philosophy way back when and I read relatively often now (although I do most of my reading on my iPad mini (via Kindle App) ) so it makes a difference to me what reading material I have around me. The great thing about these coffee table books are that they’re not just “coffee table books”. Yeah they’re cool conversation starters, but they’re also packed with information and inspiration that spark your imagination. Win-win in my book! (hehe, see what I did there ;)).
